This song by Todd Agnew moved me to tears. It gave out a loud cry—a call to authentic WORSHIP: the worship of the one, true God, Savior, and Lord, JESUS CHRIST, who came as a lowly and uncomely man—being in essence God—that He might show the mercy and love of the Father to the UNDERDOGS, to those who have come to the end of their ropes and have fully surrendered their lives, their total selves, NOT to more "rope mileage" but to just one thing: TO HAVE JESUS CHRIST INCREASE, AND THEM DECREASE.
EXCELLENT! This should be played in every church on the planet! Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteBro. Eddie,
ReplyDeleteI am very happy that it blessed you as it has blessed me.
Todd Agnew seems to be coming from a Reformed perspective, as evidenced by some of the songs that I've already heard, and that says a lot about the faithfulness of his lyrics to Scripture.
I now have 3 of his albums.
Even though apostate and heretical groups that pose as Christian abound, the gates of hell shall not prevail against the true Church of Christ. The full number of the elect shall be gathered in and preserved by the grace of God, while the posers who loved the blessing more than the Blesser, the created more than the Creator, and the gift more than the Giver, shall be forever banished from the presence of God.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think of Michael Card?
ReplyDeleteI'll look him up, brother.
ReplyDeleteCan you describe his sound and, more importantly, his theology? :-D
I got myself Michael Card's "The Hidden Face of God", Russ.
